About the Role
DrivePoint Auto Group designs and builds vehicle systems across its OEM lines. The Automotive Engineer will work on the design, development, and validation of vehicle components and systems, from early concept through production release, out of the Dallas engineering center.
Day-to-day responsibilities include component and system design, prototype builds, bench and vehicle-level testing, root-cause analysis on field issues, and design reviews with mechanical, electrical, and quality teams.
This role suits an engineer who is comfortable moving between CAD work and the test floor, and who documents every decision clearly for manufacturing and quality sign-off.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or a related engineering field
3+ years in automotive design or vehicle development
Proficiency with CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX)
Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up
Familiarity with vehicle testing and validation methods
Preferred to Stand Out
Master's degree in an engineering discipline
Experience with FEA or CFD simulation tools
Knowledge of IATF 16949 or APQP processes
Exposure to electric or hybrid powertrain programs
DFMEA or Six Sigma experience
