Questions about this data

Where does this data come from?

Every figure is calculated from the 11 jobs currently open on AutoHire. Test and demo listings, closed jobs and jobs past their application deadline are left out.

How often is the report updated?

The figures refresh automatically every hour from live listings, so they change as employers post and close jobs.

How is listed pay calculated?

Each job contributes the midpoint of the pay range the employer entered. Jobs that hide pay are left out, and annual and hourly pay are never mixed. Quartiles and the range chart appear only when at least 5 jobs support them.

Does this describe the whole automotive job market?

No. It describes jobs listed on AutoHire, which is a growing platform, so small samples can move a lot from week to week. For national occupation pay, see the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook.

Can I cite these figures?

Yes. Please credit AutoHire and link to this page, and quote the "last updated" date shown at the top.
